Cllr Stephen Stokes has been elected Leas Cathaoirleach of the Greystones Municipal District.

Cllr Stokes stated: “It is a great honour to serve the Greystones District. I will work to make a positive impact for all residents in Charlesland, Delgany, Greystones, Kilcoole, Killadreenan and Newcastle.”

Cllr Stephen Stokes previously served on Greystones Town Council from 2009-2014. During this time Stephen served as Deputy Mayor and Mayor of Greystones. He is a graduate of UCD where he completed a BA History & Politics and an MA American Studies. Over the years Stephen has been involved in many issues including the dog park and chess tables.

Stephen lived in Greater Manchester for 6 years where he was involved in local politics.

He served as President of the Bury Liberal Democrats, learning about many local issues during this time.

Cllr Stephen Stokes has a career passion for providing educational opportunities. He works as the Dublin Director of the Foundation for International Education.

FIE is a not for profit study abroad provider that brings American students to Ireland for a semester. In his spare time, Stephen enjoys playing chess for the Bray-Greystones Chess Club, where he is an honourary life member for services to youth chess.
