ust how many years now the Greystones Fire Brigade have been hosting their annual Charity Car Wash is hard to say…

For the long-serving Ciaran Hayden, it’s somewhere close to “forever”.

Their second year down at the new harbour – the perfect open space for messy motors and macho moppers to get together – the Greystones Fire Brigade are once again raising money for the RNLI.

Having passed the €1,000 mark last year – despite the miserable weather – today’s sunny skies and even sunnier drivers would suggest this year’s fundraising drive will be even more successful.

Somehow, we managed to drag Ciaran Hayden away from all this hard work for a few minutes to get a little history on the annual scrubathon.

A fine town tradition – long may it, eh, rain…
