aving run both the unique Irish-language creche Naíonra since 2011 as well as her much-loved Global Garden preschool, Ciara Watson is stepping firmly through the Narnia closet with her latest venture.

Entitled Little Stars On The Lane, Ciara and Kara McAllister have made sure that this Aladdin’s Cave of a creche packs a whole new world of wonder for kids.

And given that it has practically taken over Theatre Lane in the heart of town – with a basketball court-size playrooms indoors plus a rooftop garden for fun under the sun – Little Stars is already proving to be a big hit with Greystones’ bright young things.

And a big part of Ciara supersizing her playhouse is expanding the giddy options for the kids themselves. The Irish-language Naíonra is still part of the Little Stars universe but now there’s a second creche being taught primarily in English, but touching on French, German Spanish and Irish too.

Here’s young Ms Watson with the elementary lowdown…

Children can either attend Naíonra in the morning or we have also added another stream to the creche. So the choice is there, between a little smattering of language rather than the immersion model. The children love to learn little songs and games in other languages and it gives them a really great sense of other cultures and languages.

Our older creche children and our afterschool children can enjoy lots of different activities. We have coding on site two afternoons a week, and there’s some yummy baking too, alongside the French, German and Spanish. We also have ballet starting after St. Patrick’s weekend that will run term time every year in the creche.

Our children can also book into Harmonics Music School next door, where they can learn piano, guitar, singing and more. We will drop and collect children from there. We have a fabulous sports programme in the offing with our qualified sports education teacher and our afterschoolers can be seen around town heading for the parks, the beaches and the playground for fun and games with our fantastic team.

Our team are experienced and qualified, and given that we have a very low turnover of staff, children and team have strong bonds to help them grow and develop in a nurturing and caring environment.

With our continued expansion into some newly available rooms on Theatre Lane, we have some full-time and afterschool places available from April.

We still have the Naíonra that has been in Greystones since 2011. But we have expanded to become a full
time creche. We’re open from 7.30am to 6.30pm and we’re moments from the DART on Theatre Lane. We take little ones from 2 years right up to 6th class. Our new afterschool collects children from all the local schools.
