Only here for the cheer…
t was a very full house down at Kilian House this morning, as the GARA
gang hosting their Daffodil Day Coffee morning for the Irish Cancer Society.
So full that it caught even the Greystones Active Retirement Association a little short, all the tea and coffee selling out, along with all the daffodil fundraising goodies.
Goodies that included badges, pens, greeting cards, tea towel and cooler bags. And actual daffodils.
“There was a great turnout this morning,” says GARA guru Hilary Taylor. “Which just goes to show you what a great town this is when it comes to supporting worthy causes…”
Those attending were treated to all manner of yummy homebaked treats, plus a few hugs and all the latest gossip.
Most of it coming from sage about town, Ms Kathleen Kelleher, of course.
“I think this is the busiest coffee morning we’ve ever hosted,” says Kathleen. “It was just a wonderful start to the day, and to the weekend, to see so many happy people together for such a worthy cause…
“And we raised over €2,600 on the day!”
Also there was the mighty, mighty John McGowan, his full gallery of hi-res pics available to peruse and download for free right here.
