housands of miles from her Delgany family, India Wrafter is marooned in Australia as she battles with stage 3 gastric cancer.

A diagnosis that is extremely rare, especially for someone in their 30s.

It means India is undergoing intensive treatment to beat the cancer along with fertility treatment to counter the effects of the chemotherapy.

In the last few weeks, that has moved to new and highly expensive immunotherapy treatment, followed by open surgery and more chemotherapy.

All of which means India is unable to work, and not being an Australian citizen, she is ineligible for Australian Medicare, whilst comprehensive private health insurance isn’t available either, due to the visa she is on. And that means India is paying for all of these treatments out of her own pocket.

Which is why family and friends have created a gofundme page.

“Any contribution, big or small, will make a huge difference,” say the Wrafters, “and help relieve some of the financial stress India’s facing.

“Any fund raised that are not used will be donated to charity to help others facing a similar situation.”
