It may have been a miserable Friday outside, but inside The Mini Theatre this afternoon, local artists Hadrian Fawsitt and Brian Tyrell were having some fun putting their joint art exhibition together.
Both sharing a love of wood, Hadrian’s Raven Wood and Brian’s Bear Creation make for perfect bedfellows, with the former leaning towards the classic and the latter towards the kooky.
And who doesn’t like warm, durable, adaptable, natural wood when it comes to everyday objects such as hidden wine cabinets (that grandfather clock will help you lose all track of time) and stand-alone lamps that wouldn’t look out of place in M. C. Escher’s living room?
Running at this wonderful free exhibition space on Theatre Lane until April 11th, Hadrian and Brian are each running a competition open to everyone who swings by and checks out their work. Whilst there, all you have to do is take a shot of the exhibition and, then, if you want to win that beautiful briquette holder, you tag Raven Wood in your Facebook post, and if you want to win one of Brian’s kick-ass lamps (worth €500, big money fans!), you just tag the mighty Bear Creation. Simples.
Saying nice things about Raven Wood and Bear Creation in your post probably wouldn’t hurt your chances either. The winners will be announced on April 11th.
In the meantime, here are the boys explaining a little about what drew them to stroking wood for a living…
