s Greystones Cancer Support are presenting with this year’s Two Marys’ cheque, Jason Bradshaw of Delgany Golf Club
has issued the following press release.
This event was set up by family and friends due to the tragic death of the Two Marys, namely, Mary Nolan and her daughter, Mary Bradshaw in 2003. They both suffered from cancer and died within one week of each other.
A record entry of 48 teams topped off an outstanding day at the 14th annual golf charity event, known as the “Two Mary’s”, which took place in Delgany Golf Club on Friday 1st July 2016. The format of the competition for this year was two shot-gun starts with a four person scramble team event and the day proved to be an outstanding success with 192 people representing 48 teams taking part.
The winning team with a superb score of 54.7 was Henry Gilbert, Jimmy Gilbert, Danny Curran and K Travers. The longest drive for Men was won by Kaelin Broughan while Beth Homes won the ladies longest drive. Nearest the pin was won by Henry Gilbert. The night time entertainment was provided by Ger Vickers, which proved very popular as did the charity raffle, which followed the prize giving.
The total amount raised on the day was €4,150 with the proceeds going to Greystones and District Cancer Support.
The support from our Sponsors enables the event to take place and raise much needed funds for this very worthwhile local charity.
