WCC Flush Out Kelly Drains

an, sometimes you just flush, and you flush, and you flush, and that bugger just won’t budge.

That’s what it must feel like for Wicklow County Council, who have repeatedly instructed Kelly Environmental Services to remove themselves from the ancient mass path at cuts through Farrankelly.

We feel their pain, because we’ve been following this sorry saga since July 2016.

Well, it would appear that the WCC gang are turning up the pressure on the Kelly gang, with an Enforcement Notice requiring Kelly Drain Maintenance Service to quit the site. Which involves removing all vehicles and portakabins, and digging up the access road from Farrankelly Road and then reseeding it with grass.

In other words, make it like you was never here, my friend.

The notice, issued on March 22nd, lists the WCC’s demands. And the consequences of those demands being once again ignored.

The deadline is 10 weeks from the date of the Enforcement Notice, and should the steps specified not be carried out in that period, ‘or within such extended period as the Planning Authority may allow (not being more than 6 months)’, well, then, ‘the Planning Authority may enter on the land and take such steps, including the removal, demolition, or alteration of any structure, and may recover any expenses reasonably incurred by them in that behalf’, and, ‘you may be guilty of a criminal offence‘.

Them sounds like fighting words to us. Hopefully, the punch will finally hit home. Turd time lucky…?
