We’re currently in the middle of pulling together the history of Dann’s, but, for now, we just wanted to show you these original beer bottles from the little pub that could.
Is there anything that William H. Dann and his clan couldn’t do? They were grocers, wine merchants, coal merchants, farmers, importers, exporters, and, it turns out, they even bottled their own beer.
These are possibly the only two remaining bottles from that period, somehow having survived the last 100 years whilst bouncing around The Beach House and beyond.
Their inscription largely reads ‘Bottled By William H. Dann, The Beach, Greystones’.
We should have that complete history of the Dann The Mann early next week. In the meantime, if you happen to know a little – or a lot – of that history, do let us know.
You can email us on firstname.lastname@example.org. There might even be a pint in it for you.
Blackcurrant or orange. Totally up to you.
