ith a new Indian joint about to open up in Mrs Robinson’s old kitchen – run by some Bray heads, we’re told, who know what they’re doing – we thought it might be fun to have a look back at some of Greystones’ old takeaway menus.

Handed to us by one of the lovely Ferns sisters – the one who carries the knife – the culinary delights of Milla’s Kitchen, Papa Mc’s, Maharajah and Pizza Mill all came flooding back.

And, bejiggers, they brought back memories, to a time when you could get starters, main course, dessert and drinks for four people and still get change out of a Greystones taxi driver.

So, here, kids are some serving suggestions for your evening nosh-up down memory lane. If anyone out there can find some more old Greystones takeaway flyers down the back of their sofa, send ’em in to [email protected], and we’ll find room at the table for ya.

Below, we thought we’d order from each menu a simple dinner for one – starter, main, dessert – to go with our drinks for four. Or maybe even venture out to Coopers. Which, when new owners stepped in, became Opresco. To save on buying new letters…
