hen the tickets for the Delgany Fairy Trail Easter Egg Hunt on Friday 18th sold out in triple-quick time, no one was surprised.

This fine afternoon out costs only €3, after all, for which you got not only that Easter Bunny chap hiding eggs all along the popular trek but also some free face painting too.

What was surprising though was when, after the event had sold out, tickets for resale started popping up on social media.

All over social media, in fact, in rapid-fire succession.

“Lots of different names too, with lots of tickets, it seemed,” Angela from Delgany Tidy Towns tells us when we happened upon herself and fellow DTT member Sheena today, getting the fairy trail ready for next Friday. “And it just didn’t make any sense…”

“Especially,” adds Sheena, “when they stated that they were happy to accept less than the cost of the ticket. Which is just €3...”

And so, Delgany Tidy Towns posted the following warning on their social media…

‘It has come to our attention that fake messages have been circulating on our social channels, claiming to have Easter tickets for resale.

‘If you are looking to buy a ticket, please join the official waiting list. Do not purchase a ticket for this event from someone you do not know. This may lead to disappointment for you and your family on the day.’

You could also be dragged into the back of Farrelly’s, and slapped about the head and face until you reveal who you bought the tickets from.

Finishes Sheena, “We could never have guessed that an Easter egg hunt in Delgany could be such a hot ticket that we’d have to deal with really hot tickets…”
