s newspapers across Ireland and beyond cover this month’s inquest into the death of 2-year-old Lauren Boland, the little girl’s parents have been focussed on helping others avoid the tragedy they endured two years ago.

It was in January 2023 that the Delgany toddler choked on a single pea in a local creche, dying a day later at Children’s Health Ireland at Crumlin.

It was a tragedy that shook the entire community, and beyond.

At the inquest, a coroner called for consideration to be given to the mandatory availability of defibrillators at all childcare facilities.

Lauren’s parents, Lisa and Matt, have now also begun a campaign to raise CPR and first aid awareness.

With the simple tagline, ‘If you love a child, learn CPR. We lost ours, now we’re sharing to help others‘, the Bolands are asking people to share the page with anyone who cares for a child. ‘Follow to be part of a movement that protects children,’ they add.
