Chakra Get Their Just Michelin Dessert

e weren’t sure what the ancient Indian dessert Matka Mali Kulfi was all about until we swung down to Chakra to try it out.

Turns out Matka translates as Incredibly, Mali means Feckin’ and Kulfi is Persian for Delicious.

Holy मोली! This thing tastes amazing.

Which may explain why Michelin judges have made it their Dish of the Month, having swung by the Greystones restaurant for a secret nosh-up.

Believed to have originated in the royal kitchens of the Mughal Empire during the 16th century, this creamy and flavoured Indian frozen dessert was initially a luxurious treat enjoyed by emperors and nobles.

And now, Greystonians too.

The Chakra gang have a habit of winning awards, of course, but they’re particularly chuffed about this one, given that Michelin don’t give out their awards lightly.
