Strike a pose! MON2JUNE25 John McGowan
ith a plethora of street parties throughout the year, the
Hawkins Wood and Aldoborough gang followed up their hugely successful Easter Eggstavaganza with their late, late Street Feast today.
Officially, all those picnics with your neighbours were supposed to take place last weekend, but the residents reckoned a little more breathing space from April’s big bash might be wise.
And so it proved, given that the sun shone pretty much all day long, adding to the fun agus games, as well as the Greystones Community First Responders CPR demo, the face painting, the plant swapping, the community garden, the Greystones Family Resource Centre gang, the giant Connect 4, the live music, RNLI tips and landlocked lifeboat
rides, the Enso-sponsored Junior Bake-Off, enough mutts for six dog shows and, most importantly, lots and lots of yummy food under the guise of the Daata-sponsored International MasterChef.
Just as with last year’s fine shindig, much fun was had by all, with the kids front and centre for the kind of event that brings communities ever closer.

Avengers, UNITE!
Something we can all do with a bit more in these dividing times.
Well done to the organisers, and all those special guests who popped down on the day to make it that little bit extra special.
And a big thanks, as always, to our no.1 roving photographer, John McGowan, who took a mighty 160 photos of the big day.
You can check out over 30 of those shots below, or jump to John’s full hi-res gallery of 160 shots here, and Leeza Kane’s beauties here.
