Clara’s Classic For Crumlin 2024

he Groome clan must get tunnel vision when it comes to organising their annual Clara’s Classic, because yet again, we got no info on who, why, how or WTF for their 2024 shindig.

We do know that it took place, as usual, in Arklow though.

And we do know that Gerry Kelly went along with his trusty camera, hence the 100 shots.

And thanks to Gerry’s photosnaps, we actually found the winners list – some of it in shorthand, so, if you know them, you know them.

In 10th place, it’s C, VC, VVC, Maybe VVVC – 55.4 Nett. In 9th, P O’Sullivan, E O’Sullivan, D Gallagher and J Coffey (55.1 Nett); 8th place, E Davis, J Barry, P Davis and I Longmore (54.7 Nett); 7th was Kevin O’Reilly, Brian, Mark C, Kevin Shirts (54.2 Nett); 6th was Walt, Mick, Gough and Nuala (54.1 Nett C/B); 5th place was Karl, Noel, David, Marcus (54.1 Nett C/B); 4th place, B McCormack, L Merrigan, S McCormack and C Scanlon (54.1 Nett). In 3rd position were B Davies, S Leonard, C Leonard and C Keown (54 Nett), 2nd place went to Jonny, Ivan K, Karl and Lisa (53.9 Nett) and 1st place went to A Hutchman, S Holohan, D Dixon and H Rafferty, on 53 Nett.

There’s also the fact that this long-running golf classic raises a whole lotta moolah each year for Crumlin’s Children Hospital.
