e can’t be too sure, but we reckon Greystones gal Máire Dee and her dance partner Kathryn Cooley might be jumping for joy right about now.

In a perfect pirouette, of course, followed by a sauté Arabesque and finishing with the eye-bulger’s favourite, the splits.

Yep, the dynamic duo’s Kat And Dawg Productions have just picked up the Best Midwest Film at the Richard Harris International Film Festival, their vertical dance film Walls Of Limerick spinning the judges right round, baby.

A Limerick lad, there’s every chance the late, great Richard Harris would have been jumping for joy over Máire and Kathryn’s award-winning short film too.

An innovative dance film that, through the use of harnesses and ropes, allows the two leads to literally dance up the walls, this  dizzying 7-minute wonder was directed by Arturo Bandinelli, and has been knockin’ em off their feet all over the world this year – picking up Best Cinematography at the MarDelDance Festival in New Jersey, Best Film at the Dance Film Festival in Prague, and the Audience Choice Award at Tipperary Dance Platform, as well as gongs at Lisbon’s InShadow Film Festival and Spain’s Soria International Short Film Festival.
