Greystones mum loses her battle with cancer

Dee Woods…

he town rallied around Greystones mum Dee Woods when it was learnt that she was battling a very rare form of cancer called Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma.

Fundraisers popped up every other day, and auctions were held, in the hope of getting Dee to Germany for some specialist treatment.

And now, sadly, with that treatment only just starting, Dee Woods has passed.

Our condolences to her husband, Derek, and their four sons, Isaac, Adam, Josh and Hugo, and to all who knew and loved Dee.

Here are the funeral details…

Dee Woods of Kilmurray Cottages, Kilmacanogue, formerly Redford Park, Greystones, Co. Wicklow. Slipped away at 8.30pm December 23rd 2023 in the comfort of her own home surrounded by her devoted husband & best friend Derek Devlin, their four amazing sons Isaac, Adam, Josh & Hugo, her heartbroken parents Margaret Parle & Declan Lanigan & her loving mother-in-law Peggy Devlin. Sadly missed by her brothers-in-law Alan his partner Angie, sisters-in-law Ciara& Emma, Ciara’s husband Mark, Emma’s partner Agatha, aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family & Dee’s wonderful circle of close friends. House Private Please

Funeral Mass Friday, December 29th, at 10am in The Holy Rosary Church, Greystones, (which can be viewed live on the following link here). Followed by private cremation. No flowers by request, donations in memory of Dee to The Irish Cancer Society or Our Lady’s Hospice Magheramore, Wicklow. ‘Dreams will catch me – find joy every day in the simple wonder of what we call this life, and the gratitude for being able to so.’
