Defibrillator-Destroying F**ks Caught On Camera

n the one hand, you know they probably come from a troubled home, or the world just doesn’t understand them.

On the other, it would be rather wonderful to have five minutes alone with the three young men who destroyed a €2,000 defibrillator in a Wicklow town on Tuesday night.

Once you had a working defibrillator in the room too, of course.

Greystones had its own run-in with such stunning stupidity back in March, when a local dickhead damaged a defibrillator adjacent to The Burnaby on Church Road.

Gardai have just released video footage of the three suspects sought over the destruction of this life-saving device, which was pulled off the wall of the 7Eleven shop in Arklow on Tuesday, December 28th 2017.

Gardai were alerted at the time of the incident, and, according to shop owner Bill Nolan, almost managed to catch the culprits. 

According to Nolan, the incident took place at five past two in the morning, with the gardai arriving just 35 seconds later.

Thanks to the tech experts who had installed CCTV cameras in the area, footage of the three suspects was examined, and three clear pictures of the men’s faces were retrieved.

There are 21 Community First Responders around Wicklow, and over the past 12 months, they dealt with 600 call-outs.

The 7Eleven store has responded by launching a fundraisers for the local First Responders so that the defibrillator can be replaced.
