Delgany Actors Try Separate Beds

We are delighted to announce the latest play from our wonderful drama group, a production of Sam Cree’s Separate Beds.

The play is a three-act comedy set in the home of successful businessman Arthur Marshall who is preparing for his daughter Judy’s wedding. And, like all good fathers, is getting the house done up for the occasion, his decorator, Andy, sadly not the fastest to get the job done, clearly having other things on his mind. But that might be the least of the soon-to-be-divorced Arthur, with his soon-to-be-ex-wife coming to the big day unwelcome news for the man’s flirtatious neighbour.

Michael O’Brien takes on the role of Arthur whilst Natasha Murtagh is his daughter, Fiona Whooley is the wife and Cillian Duffy the groom, with Ann Boyle, Bernie Flynn, Mark Doyle, Geoff Dolly and Helen Miley making up the rest of the crew. Bernard Doyle the director, aided and abetted by Cheryl Ball, Eileen Broderick, John Garvey, Diane Reid, Liam Kelly, Brian and John Fitzpatrick, Bernie Jones, Mags McDarby, Siobhan Whelan, Tom Bergin, Conn Loy, Jamie Elliot, Kevin O’Reilly and the real star of the show, Eamonn Bradshaw.

We are delighted to welcome you to another in a long series of plays at Delgany Golf Club, Delgany’s Drama Group has a presented a variety of plays from Sharon’s Grave to The Plough & the Stars and Widows Paradise. It is one thing for a golf club to present a play in the first place, but another to deliver the play in such a highly professional manner.

Our golf club is so proud of its drama group and the annual presenting of fantastic plays. The efforts and work put in to allow us all have a great evening is very much appreciated.

Who will ever forget the 2025 play Widows Paradise, and the health scare that Jim Blake had to endure? In true theatrical fashion, the show had to go on, with director Bernard Doyle taking over Jim’s role. It was, quite simply, a triumph. Bernard was sensational, the cast and production team raised their game to support the situation, and thank goodness Jim came through, back to good health. So sit back, get yourself comfortable and prepare yourself for a bundle of laughs.
