High hopes…

he Delgany Golf Club Drama Group are back in action in February, as they take on Sam Cree’s hugely popular Widows’ Paradise.

As with all of DGC Drama Group’s big hitters, this one plays out like the perfect 1970s sitcom – even if it is set in the 1960s.

Taking place over two February weekends – Wednesday 12th to Saturday 15th and Wednesday 19th to Saturday 22nd – the cast is made up of Jim Blake, Ann Boyle, Geoff Dolly, Mark Doyle, Alison Graham, Liam Kelly, Helen Miley, Michael O’Brien, Teresa Thompson and Fiona Whooley. All under the strict but fair direction of Bernard Doyle.

Here’s de blurb…

Set in a caravan in the 1960s, the play follows a group of 5 women who go on a caravan holiday so that they can prove they do not need men.

They soon discover they are in the wrong caravan when they are joined by the male owner, his son and his brother-in-law. Forced to spend the night together, the group are soon joined by the husband of one of the women and the local farmer.

Widows’ Paradise takes a hilarious route through the course of a night, while answering the question ‘Can men and women live without each other?’…

So, the perfect first date night out then. Or last date night out, of course.
