Santa and his not-so-little helper… FRI18NOV22
hey’re just a hop, skip and kayak across The Irish Sea, and our Welsh
kissing cousins have been part of Greystones now for 10 years.
And to mark a decade of our twinning with Holyhead – home of the world’s only real Santa – there’s a whole plethora of events hitting Greystones this weekend.
Well, three, but it’s the coming together that counts.
Alongside a photo exhibition charting our history with Holyhead down at Greystones library from November 12th to the 23rd, and a special concert at The Whale tonight, our Welsh besties had a welcoming party at Greystones’ finest hotel, The Parkview, last night.Â
Rocio!
Naturally, our bachgen rhyfeddod, John McGowan, was there to capture it all. You can check out the full gallery here, and you can check out our visitors’ big night out at The Whale at 8pm. Entitled Voices From Across The Sea, the celebrations will include not only The Holyhead Male Voice Choir – who made quite the impression here in 2019 – but also rising trad stars The Magee Brothers. Tickets here.
The concert will follow the turning on of Greystones Christmas lights, which will be attended by some VIPs from Holyhead. And one or two stowaways.
You can find out more about that Whale concert on November 19th right about here, and more about Holyhead’s twinning with Greystones over here.
