Greystones’ Igloo Animations Are Invading Your TV

All hail Holt!

aving recently made the move from the big city to little old Greystones, Trevor Courtney thought it only right to bring his animation house, Igloo, here too.

And the timing couldn’t have been better, given that one of their latest creations, the kids TV cartoon Holt, is now up and gunning on the RTE iPlayer.

Because, hey, the kids are loving the show.

“When it came to creating Holt, I was thinking of all the cartoons I loved when I was young,” says Igloo Animations founder Trevor. “Shows like He-Man and Dungeons and Dragons, all the eighties cartoon classics. I just wanted to capture that particular magic.

“Our show was ten years in development and then I finally managed to get it funded by Screen Ireland, RTÉ and Coimissiun Na Mean…”

The story follows three classmates from Planet Eire – Roo, Umba and Metric – who barely know each other but are forced to work together when their spaceship is thrown off-course during a school trip. Crashing on a long-forgotten, ancient prison planet teeming with scary creatures, hidden secrets and untold dangers, all seems lost until they meet Jeannie, a mysterious prism who grants them the gift of combining together as one unstoppable super-being, Holt!“
