With their upcoming TV series already selling in territories around the globe – with Australia and the UK confirmed – and the follow-up to their chart-busting debut cookbook also set for international success in 2016, the seemingly unstoppable Happy Pear twins have now turned their attention to our unmentionables.
Believing in both nutritious, healthy vegetarian food and helping protect the planet’s ever-decreasing natural resources, the Flynn twins have come up with a range of edible underwear straight from the Happy Pear kitchens.
For the men, you can choose between multi-coloured lentil briefs, or, for the larger gentleman, carrot Y-fronts. For the ladies, there’s a choice between avocado origami knickers or, for the more adventurous, green bean thongs.
“The idea came to us when we were shooting with Jamie Oliver in London,” explains Steve. “Somehow, after Dave and I went for our 5am jog, we ended up in Soho at what we thought was a vegetarian restaurant. It was called Wheatgrass, My Ass, and, well, there was a distinct lack of wheatgrass in this place…”
“But,” smiles Dave, “there was plenty of… well, you know. What impressed me most was, when we were leaving, about four hours later, they had their very own gift shop. And that’s when I spotted them – these magnificent edible underpants called Brief Jerky. Wow!”
Steve nods. “It was then we decided that we had to bring out such a range of underwear, but for vegetarians. And that’s when we came up with our Happy Perriere Edible Underwear range.”
“And the great thing,” finishes Dave, with that trademark twinkle in the eye, “if you want to wear them again, just wash them at 40-degrees. And if you’d rather eat them, just wash them at 60-degrees, with a few organic vegetarian stock cubes and just a handful of cashnew nuts, and, BOOM, there’s dinner!”
The Happy Perriere Edible Underwear range will be available as part of Ann Summer’s new Trippy Hippy Spring Collection
