Cake! SUN14JUNE26
t was a happy coming together of past, present and future members, and the fact that Newtown ICA was celebrating 75 years proves just how much of a local institution it has become.
Back in 1951, it’s hard to imagine that the hardy group at that very first meeting could have even dreamed of such an achievement.
On Sunday, at the Newtown Community Hall, there were craft displays, Memory Lane photo galleries, evocations of Christmas celebrations past, a nod to the many charities that the gang have helped over the decades, and Robbie Doyle rockin’ out.
Along with lots and lots of old friends catching up.
And a dirty great big agus yummy cake.
Which explains what our roving snapper John McGowan was doing there. Full gallery of hi-res pics here.
