Laurence’s Kids Do The Walk

Walk this way…

smart new initiative at St Laurence’s National School will see the kids going old school when it comes to their Friday mornings.

For that’s when the new Feet On Friday option is available, with parents coming together to introduce some fresh air and exercise to their offspring before the school bell rings.

With meeting points at Centra in Delgany, Lidl in Blacklion and Enso at Tesco, this new junior walking party got off to a flying start last Friday.

Thanks somewhat to that beautiful sun, and some sponsorship from the mighty Tim at Enso, who came up with the cunning plan of a stamp for each walk – and when a kid presents their sheet with 10 stamps at Enso, they get a free biscuit treat.

Result! Get healthy, and get a free treat!

Well done to Yvonne McDonald and the rest of the St Laurences National School parents who came up with this wonderful idea.

And well done to all those kids who walked the walk.

Here’s hoping those rumoured plans for Moonwalk On Mondays get off the ground soon too…
