Let Them Eat Cake

They are, they say, in this for the long haul, but there’s a real sense down at the first day of the Tesco strike that common sense might just win the day.

With cutbacks at the supermarket giant putting the pressure on 250 pre-1996 workers to effectively tear up their old contracts, the nationwide strike came to Greystones with a bang today.

It also came with lots of yummy cakes, tea and coffee, thanks largely to those lovely people at Donnybrook Fair. And the mighty Gemma Kinsella.

    Fully understand the strike and picket.But lets not forget there are other shops in the store, Butchers,Hair Dressers and Newsagent to name but three,these shops need your support as the Tesco footfall plummets,and the Pickets will happily wave you through as they did to me today when I explained Des Doyle the Butcher needed my business,and I needed his chicken and beef.
