It’s enough to make David La Touche swoon…
t’s a sign that seemed to pop up overnight, letting the world and her
brother know that a very large chunk of Delgany land was up for grabs.
We’re talking 197 acres large, with a large swathe of Bellevue Woods and some great big fields surrounding the handful of houses situated up along Ballydonagh Lane.

A parcel of 197 acres of land in one block, Kindlestown Upper is located just 500 metres from Junction 9, heading south on the M11 Motorway. The site offers a unique opportunity to acquire a large plot of land, in an idyllic and much sought after area, just 25Km south of Dublin City Centre, 45Km south of Dublin Airport, and 30Km south of Dun Laoghaire Port.
The site is very accessible off the M11 which forms part of Euro Route E01 which connects Larne to Rosslare Harbour.

Did they add the 30% extra for the government renovation grant just for giggles?
This land should be protected by appropriate zoning. It’s a wonderful opportunity to extend the native forest from Glen of The Downs and, perhaps, even create. “garden park” on the lower fields. I’m sure both Greystones and Delgany scouts would love a camp site. Plenty of opportunity to add amenities.
GoD has been forever ruined by the roar of traffic. Maybe the wildlife doesn’t care, but it doesn’t make for relaxing amenity space.
It’d be nice to have some proper broadleaf woodland restored on the upper parts, that are walkable from Delgany and GoD.
Trouble is with creating anything nice, the council engineers would start widening all the roads so people can drive to it.
Is it too early for a ‘guess the number of houses’ competition?
If mot, I’ll guess 3,000.
