Standing Room Only At M11 Meeting
December 3, 2019

As Delgany’s recently-formed M11 Friday 13th group have demonstrated above, at least one of the two of the proposed new motorways around Glen Of The Downs pretty much take a shit on the village.

And a pretty darn big one at that, and it would leave a stink for miles around.

Not far behind Mr Pink is Mr Orange, who has to settle for taking a shit on Blackberry Lane, as well as, of course, Delgany Golf Course, who features on both bonkers plans.

Not that the Cyan Route is all that much smarter, taking the opposing curve through the Rocky Valley and the Willow Grove, could be considered smarter.

For those still trying to grasp the nettle here, there will be a meeting at The Glenview Hotel on Monday, December 2nd, at 8pm, to give people a chance to go over the plans together, and to get organised with filing their objections.

The deadline to do so is December 13th, and your two-page form should be submitted to You can also post your objection to Deirdre Forde, Public Liaison Officer, N11/M11 Submissions, Wicklow County Council, County Buildings, Whitegates, Wicklow Town A76FW96.

You can find out more about the plans here, and here, and about M11 Friday 13th here

  1. Hazel Fortune says: These trees on the hill have been my favourite view from all directions for 40 years.

  2. Julie warner says:

Has any one actually calculated how many homes will be destroyed and affected by these proposals…

  3. Colin says:

Do people realize that the pink option carves through the top of Drummin Hill in a 30metre (9 storey building) deep 180 meter wide cutting that will cut off the end of the iconic Scots Pines? (Remember the article in April 2018re the Scots Pines? This would destroy the hill and the cutting will lower the water tables killing the pines. )
And as the pink option crosses the Glen Road on the edge of Delgany village it will be on a 40 meters high embankment? That’s the same height as a 12 storey building!! The scale of the proposals is astonishing.
