Drummin Trees with Mushroom Cloud. Phil McDarby
he problem with putting a Phil McDarby post together is settling on
which photographs to use.
The fecker takes an incredible shot, happy to wait hours, days, weeks for the light to be just right.
It’s why we spoke with the guy in 2019 and put some of his finer shots up to that point together back then too.
Phil has taken many more wonderful nature shots around here since then, and you could have one lighting up your home.
Think of it as a window into the wilds of Wicklow. Only you’ve got incredible eyesight all of a sudden.
Over to Phil…
We live in a magic part of the world.
There are so many beautiful spots around Greystones that I love to photograph – sunrises on our beautiful beaches, autumn light in our gorgeous woods, and that signature ridge of trees we can see from just about everywhere – The Drummin Pines. The prints I sell are Fine Art, Giclee prints – Museum Quality, Archival Inks – all crafted by Master Printer Ronan Hayes in Wicklow.
They come in two sizes – A1, which is an 84cm x 59cm print, on 330gm Hahnemuhle PearlRag, and A2, half the size at 59cm x 42cm. Depending on the photograph, there will be a white border of varying thickness around the image.
A1 usually go for €199 and A2 for €125, but I’m going to knock a chunk off for Christmas, bringing them down to €149 and €99 respectively.
The shots you see here are just a small sample. You can have a look on my Instagram for a much broader selection, or get in touch on philmcdarby@yahoo.com. Thanks!
