They’ve been up and running for only a year, and yet, Greystones’ Making Waves Youth Theatre have already made their mark on the town.
Making their debut last February with the Shakespeare adaptation Juliet Of Verona, this young drama group hit the ground running.
And now they’re putting the call out for new teenage drama kings and queens to join the gang.
Here’s the lowdown…
Making Waves Youth Theatre is a community group for teenagers between 14 and 18 years of age. Generously supported by Ross McParland of Greystones Studios and The Whale Theatre, the group provides teenagers in Greystones and its environs with the opportunity and space to learn about and make great theatre, through workshops, productions and attending other theatrical productions. Our workshops take place in Greystones Studios every Sunday afternoon (within the school calendar) between 2.00 and 4.30 p.m.
Launched in 2018, the Making Waves premiere production, Juliet of Verona by Ciarán Coogan, was performed in the Whale Theatre in February 2019 and in the wonderful outdoor amphitheatre in Templecarrig School in May 2019 as part of Shakespeare by the Sea Festival.
Whether your interest is in acting or in one of the various elements that go into a theatrical production this group will have a place for you!
