Another one bites the money lust…?
t’s incredible to think that, jumping back just forty years, there were only about twelve houses on the half-mile
stretch of Blackberry Lane in Delgany.
And only three of them had an upstairs, don’t cha know.
Today, there are somewhere in the region of 4,237 houses on Blackberry Lane. Give or take.

The 2019 plot…
And about 4,233 of those houses would appear to be down to the family of a woman who no longer actually lives there, but, from her quite-possibly gold-plated apartment in Greystones, has slowly but surely been carving up the old farm into an ever-expanding quilt of new million-dollar domiciles, field by petrified field.
Having filled one side of Blackberry Lane at the N11 end to near-full capacity – the last plot having gone to market in 2019 for €395,000 – it’s now the turn of the great big field known as Cherrys’ Brow on the other side to have a For Sale nailed to its gate.

There’s gold in that there hill…
stretch of Blackberry Lane in Delgany.

Please STOP all this building. Not one road in either Delgany or Greystones has been upgraded to facilitate the houses mushrooming up all over the place
I just saw an application for 426 house development for Delgany with only 3 weeks for submissions http://www.pleanala.ie/shd/applications/CurrentApplications/Current%20Applications27Sep.pdf
