What’s a nice plate like you…

here was a lot of cheering – plus a few commiserations – this morning at Three Rock Rovers as two of Temple Carrig girls’ hockey teams faced some formidable foes.

For the Junior Girls, the game would end in victory; for the Minor Girls, it was close but no Kessel.

The former were playing Loreto On The Green, and thanks to a goal from Erica Sammon and a double from Sorcha Melia, the Juniors won 3-0.

Which meant they got to take home the Junior Plate.

Which deserves a shout-out to their top-of-the-range coaching team of Alan Cox, Dean Maguire and Cheryl O’Toole.

It was heartbreak for the Minors though as they lost 1-0 to Loreto On The Green – despite being a very strong side on the day, led this time by coaches Nadia Douglas and Cheryl O’Toole.

Principal Cox and co want to send out a big thanks to Loreto and their fans, and, of course, to the TCG supporters, “who added an amazing atmosphere for both schools“…
