he Boggins family have nothing but love and admiration for the Irish Motor Neuron Disease Association.
For this was the gang who have made their mother’s battle with the disease far less painful for the Boggins.
And to show their love and admiration, they have started an annual IMNDA fundraiser, last year inviting Greystonians to take part in a one-day triathlon.
“This year,” says Mark Boggins, “it’s a little bit easier. The aim is to get as many friends, family and people around the world to join us on a 5km walk. The original Walk While You Still Can took place in Phoenix Park in 2019, and my brilliant mother, Grainne Crean, walked it with friends and family that year.”
Diagnosed with MND in 2019, Grainne is now confined to a wheelchair.
“It’s a horrible disease,” continues Mark, “and now, IMNDA is an organisation very close to our hearts. We managed to raise €11,000 last year, with over 30 family and friends taking part. We’d love to break that total this year, given that anyone around the globe can take part…”
Taking place on Saturday, September 11th, you can sign up for the simple 5km walk and donate right about here.
