Their Caroline Cup Floweth Over

here were plenty of star players at the Caroline Foundation Football Tournament 2019 down in Shoreline this afternoon.

It was the team names that stole the show though – The Magnficient 7, The False 9, Dessie’s Diamonds, The Big Chieftains, The Gators, The Ashford Incontinentals, Brayzil…

Oh, and let’s not forget Bibs, Balls & Cones, Qualtrics Athletic, Werder Braymen, Relentless Rovers, Hugh’s Hustlers and the Dream Team Of Gary Breen’s.

Man, if there had been cups for football team monikers this afternoon, everyone down at the Shoreline Astroturf Park today would have been a winner.

As it turns out, that’s not how the winner was decided. They played football. Until one team had beaten all of their opponents.

And that team was – roll drums – Brayzil!

Young Denis from The Caroline Foundation wants to thank all the people and sponsors involved today, especially Ciarán Fitzgerald, Donnacha Guilfoyle and Stephen Hayes for all their help setting up the tournament, and refs Willie O’Brien, Butch Doran, Keith Neville, Tom Fitzpatrick, Richard Yeomans and Gordon Fallon.
