aking place in the 30 days of June each year, 100km In 30 Days is all about raising funds – and awareness – for breast cancer research.

Participants can run, walk or wheel their way through the 100km – all that really matters is that both fun and funds are raised.

At Greystones’ Sherry FitzGerald office, five hardy souls – Michasia Nowakowska, Barbara Lennox, Eamonn Foley, Lydia Casey and Chloe McCullagh – have taken on that challenge, and are just in the closing days of their month-long marathon.

Eamonn’s wife is in there too, to make sure that after 30 days, her hubby doesn’t end up stranded in Beaumont.

Raising money for The Marie Keating Foundation, it was back in June 2020 that the annual fundraiser first came into being. When Dundalk’s Cara Carroll was diagnosed with breast cancer, she refused to give up her beloved running, inspiring her husband, Niall, to set up 100km In 30 Days.

Since then, the charity has raised over €4.2m for The Marie Keating Foundation. And the boys and girls in Greystones are determined to add even more than their already-achieved fundraising targets this year.
