Time Flies For The Greystones Active Retirement Gang

There was a magical atmosphere during the afternoon as Greystones Active Retirement Association members dined and danced as they celebrated their 25th anniversary.

Special handmade cards were left at each table for members to sign their names. These cards will join the memorabilia of GARA Greystones as a memento of the day and of all who attended.

Twenty five years for an active retirement association is no mean feat.

Special thanks were extended by Chairman Sadie O’Shea to guests former Chairmen Tom Hillery and Emmet McGarry.

Over many years, GARA Greystones has been a leading force for the over-55s in the Greystones area.

The group offers weekly activities, coffee mornings with notable speakers, special lunches, outings and holidays – which you can check here. GARA Greystones always welcomes new ideas and new members.

Although on a summer break, two outings are being organised, one each in July and August. Full details will be forthcoming shortly.

Most GARA activities have finished for the season, but chair yoga on Mondays from 1.15pm to 2pm in Kilian House continues until the end of June.

The annual holiday, this year to the Radisson Blu Hotel in Sligo, leaves Greystones on June 22nd 2025 for four nights.

Chairman Sadie O’Shea extended warm appreciation to all for coming along, to Tommy Carroll for the toe tapping music, and to the Parkview Hotel in Newtown for the hospitality.
