It can be a lonely job, being an artist.
Especially in Greystones. At night. Outdoors. In the rain.
Having already graced the town with not one but two rather fine murals, Theatre Lane’s artist in residence Irina Kuksova was out in all weathers tonight, Friday May 20th, to start work on her third large-scale commission.
With darkness needed for the projector outline to work, the fact that this wonderful summer rain is never too far away made tonight’s first step in a new creation a damp one.
Still, at least Irina had two sturdy brothers, Elliot and Dylan Crampton, on umbrella and reaching-the-top-of-the-painting duties.
The plan is for the mural to be closed to finished by Sunday morning, when all the Grease fans will be descending upon Theatre Lane to collect their wristbands.
Those with an interest in art might want to take a moment to see a truly great one in action.
