Wicklow County Council Votes For Irish Water To Be Abolished
Derek Mitchell amongst the six who voted against abolition

n a special meeting today, Wicklow County Council voted no
confidence in Irish Water and called for the abolition of water charges.
The official line:
Furthermore, that the government reviews all taxation revenue and prepares a budget which will include upgrading of the water infrastructure with new fiscal and capital spending budgets, by cutting quangos and waste.
The vote was 23 in favour, 6 against, with three councillors absent. Those who voted against the motion were Derek Mitchell, John Ryan, Vincent Blake, Sylvester Bourke, Shay Cullen and Irene Winters.
