ith Greystones having finally gotten its bigger, better, stronger dog park – and opposed to dog pond – Wicklow Town has today laid out the sand carpet for our VIPs.
Meaning that, with Arklow also providing a dog-meet-dog heaven, our Very Important Pets can now mix and mingle with a whole plethora of fellow Wicklow waggers.
Opened by the Cathaoirloeach of Wicklow Municipal District, Cllr Gail Dunne, the new Murrough Dog Park is situated on Wicklow Town’s seafront, and ‘allows for dogs to exercise off the leash’ within a ‘safe and enjoyable space’.
Young Ms Dunne said, “It is a great honour after immense hard work by all to officially open the park on the Murrough,” and added that it will be “another amenity in Wicklow Town to be enjoyed.”
The new park was funded by the Community, Cultural & Social Development Section of Wicklow County Council and the work was carried out by the staff of Wicklow Municipal District. So, fair fecks to them all.
You can find the Murrough Dog Park here, and check out the proper Greystones Dog Park here, and that Arklow pooch paradise here.
