owsa, it’s a times like this that GG thinks we may have backed the wrong horse.

A beautiful, untouched, working harbour, that Black Castle ruin, the Wicklow Gaol, its rich history, the twisted alleyways and secret turns, the Heritage trail, the other Cliff Walk, its state-of-the-art new library, the neighbourly seal…

The only real question you have to ask yourself about Wicklow Town is, how the hell is it not the hottest property in the county?

If not the country.

That’s certainly a glitch that Wicklow County Council are determined to fix, throwing a few million at our quaint neighbour in recent years. And it’s beginning to pay off.

The latest clarion call for the town pretty much everyone loves so well is a fancy-pants video.

Well, almost fancy-pants. Despite the traditional drone shots of this fine seaside town, this promo is still a tad more Ireland’s Own than National Geographic.

Which is, of course, all part of the attraction here.

The place hasn’t been Photoshopped or supersized. Yet.
