After 20 years behind the bar at the Delgany Golf Club, I think it would be fair to say that Jamie Elliot knows a
thing or two about pulling pints.
And certainly the good readers of the Greystones Guide felt so, giving our boy a resounding victory in this year’s Perfect Pint competition.
A worthy successor to the equally-renowned Sharyn Conroy – who won the inaugural Perfect Pint vote in 2015 – Jamie had the distinct advantage of a thousand loyal Delgany Golf Club members ready to support their local barman.
The distance between Jamie and his nearest rival was, ooh, at least a mile, and it’s a definite reflection on those who regard the likes of Mrs Robinson and The Carraig as their local that they didn’t actually vote for those who keep their whistle wet on a regular basis.
Maybe they were just too battered to get it together.
So, congratulations to Jamie, clearly a worthy winner, having pulled his first pint in the Delgany Golf Club at the tender age of 16 way, way back in 1997.
We’ll announce the winner of lunch-for-two at the club this Sunday, once we put all those votes through our patented Randomizer 3000. So, watch this space. You spacers.
In the meantime, we headed up to Jamie this afternoon, to see if he might reveal the secret to his Perfect Pint success…
