Greystonians ReJoyce Once Again…

t feels like forever since Greystones gave itself over to Bloomsday, that June day when the whole of Ireland and beyond indulges in some Joycean jollies.

Was 2012 really the last time Leopold and Molly took a stroll down Church Road?

Well, the good news is, acrostic aristocrat Frances Browner teamed up with Diana in Zenobia to bring this annual tradition back to Greystones with an evening of recitals, readings and song – and, just so you’re forewarned, poetry.

Yowsa.

The fact that June 16th also happens to be the Browner lass’ birthday added another layer of magic to the night.

Here’s the official spiel before the event…

We’re bringing Bloomsday back to Greystones.

We’re even mentioned in Ulysses! Molly was unable to sing in a concert here because she was ‘big’ with child.

Renowned actress, Claire Mullan, will perform Molly’s soliloquy, Layla Moroney take us on a meditative stroll through Sandycove-Kingstown with her sound bowls, and Tom Finn will sing a few tunes. Local artists and poets will recapture that Ulysses atmosphere.

Join us for music, singing, readings, and poems, all with a Joycean theme, plus a complimentary glass of prosecco or wine, and tapas.
