Only the second year for this free festive feast for the homeless, and there’s already the sense of a timeless Greystones
tradition taking place.
It was largely all down to Bochelli’s head honcho, Declan McLoughlin, and a dedicated crew of family, staff and friends last year, but, for 2017, a shout-out for a little help resulted in an outpouring of love, gifts and donations from their fellow Greystonians.
To the point that the near-100 guests from WH Five Loaves, Tiglin and the town itself were each given a present of goodies and necessities to take home with them. Once they stopped dancing, of course.
What was truly staggering this year though was the amount of money raised for these worthy charities. The McLoughlin clan put a brave target of €10,000 as their fundraising goal, and, yep, they surpassed it.
Well, how could they not, when you’ve got a town full of Aislings, Laurens, Olayas, Evas and Annas in all shapes, sizes and ages…?
Our #1 roving photographer John McGowan swung by Bochelli’s this afternoon to capture some of the true Christmas spirit in full swing.
Well done to everyone involved – we’ll be talking with Declan when all the icing sugar settles, to give a proper shout-out to all those who helped…

A sad, sad loss to all of us in Greystones. Our only, and amazing Italian restaurant, gone in the blink of an eye.
May Declan enjoy wholeheartedly whatever he has planned for the future.
