Would it not make more sense to just widen the existing m11/n11? One traffic lane off each side of the wood is hardly that dramatic. I think the eco-warriors resistance to building would have been far more understandable if they had fought the harbour development rather than the n11 road-widening – which as far as I can see makes barely any difference.
