Active Retirement Association’s Christmas dinner being a much-loved new year treat.
Because the GARA gang like to take their time, having their festive feast a full 12 days after the big day.

We asked one of the ringleaders, Kathleen Kelleher, to fill us in on the day…
There was a full house for GARA Greystones’ Annual Christmas Dinner and Dance. The over 55s came from near and far for an afternoon of dining and dancing, with lots of opportunities to meet old friends and even make some new ones.
There was music in the air with Tommy Carroll playing everyone’s old favourites, prompting plenty of singalongs and dancefloor moves.
Many members went home with more than sore feat and raspy vocal chords though, thanks to a great big raffle.
Good company and good food – what a way to close off the Christmas season.
