Irish clickbait site throws up a list of Ireland’s grooviest, healthiest and happiest places to live.
And often as not, good ol’ Greystones pops up somewhere very close to the top of that list.
The latest to fall for our wicked and wily charms is the diddley-aye-potatoes website Ireland Before You Die – or IB4UD, if you’re in a hurry.
County Wicklow is an ideal location if you are considering taking up residence in Ireland. This is a town that has grown but not shed its homely village feel.
Greystones claims the number one spot not only for its coastal charm. It is also your gateway to Dublin with excellent rail connections, letting you bypass Dublin’s exorbitant house prices.
In other exorbitant house prices news just published, outside of the capital, Greystones had, in the year up to May, the highest median price (€481,250), followed by Bray (€405,000) and then Celbridge, Co Kildare (€395,000).
For now, those silly house prices reflect the lure of living in Greystones, even if the real estate brochure have already begun to look less and less like the everyday life in this increasingly traffic-jampacked town of ours.
We’ve certainly grown since winning 1st prize and The Gold Award at the first-ever International Awards For Liveable Communities held in China back in 2008. Councillor Mags Crean reckons we can do it again.
