Cove Northern Lights SUN5NOV23 CINE Timelapse Ireland
hen the Northern Lights lit up the sky around Greystones in
March, it was a sight we hadn’t witnessed around here before.
And, we reckoned, it was a sight we may not see again.
How wrong we was. Sunday night, the skies around Greystones lit up like an early Pink Floyd show at the UFO club, with deep, daring colours like a giant lava lamp on acid. Man.
It was like the cosmos decided to come down and say hello.
Naturally, GG was in bed, and missed the whole dang thing, but there were smarter and luckier Greystonians out there who captured it all.
For Jelena Labunskiene, the light show didn’t actually catch her by surprise, her other half, Alex, running the skyandsolar.com website. Which would explain Jelena’s early warning posts on social media on Sunday for her fellow Greystonians to
watch the skies.
These are just some of the incredible shots caught around Greystones on the night, including the Cine Timelapse Ireland footage above from Rafal Roseman, St Crispin’s Cell in a whole new light by Andrea Banfield, the view from the North Beach by Oran Cahill, from the marina by Damian Newell, and from the South Beach by Andrew Hanney.
