Responders Say Farewell To Sharon

t’s the Greystones Community First Responders’ biggest night of the year, the one that they rely on most for keeping the lights on, so it was hardly surprising to see their annual Quiz Night packed to the rafters once again.

Raising over €3,000 for the volunteer group means that it was also one great big success.

Not that the night didn’t have a tinge of sadness, as longtime member Sharon Lennon used the occasion to officially hand in her badge.

Having served as a Greystones Community First Responders for decades, the lady will be missed.

“Sharon will be very missed,” says member Ross Thompson. “Not just for her expertise, of course, but for her friendship, her wonderful spirit. It’s fitting that Margaret Duggan was here tonight, as always, as we’re always aware of those who have helped make the Responders just who they are…”

The questions on the night came thick and fast, but the trivia nuts in the room were thicker and faster, and not even quiz master supreme Mike Morrissey’s cunning ploy of wearing a loud shirt in a built-up area could distract them.
