Here Come The Cool JetsNovember 6, 2020
Three ridiculously talented kids from around these here parts have made quite the impression at this year’s Texaco Children’s Art Competition.
The annual event always attracts some incredible works and this year was no exception.
Coming in for Special Merit Awards are these three beautiful offerings from students of Temple Carrig, Coláiste Chraobh Abhann and Bray’s Loreto Secondary School.
On the cover, and above, it’s TC’s 17-year-old Emily Roe, with this striking portrait of a young girl at Greystones marina.
Hailing from Loreto Bray, it’s 15-year Brooke Mullen with the portrait top left, and from Kilcoole’s CCA, it’s 15-year-old Chloe Hughes’ incredible pooch painting. A painting that we’re still trying to figure out here at GG HQ, given that it looks so darn close to being a photograph.
The competition’s final adjudicator, Professor Declan McGonagle, stated that all three “were imaginative and displayed high level of skills“, and the lad’s not wrong.
The prizes themselves will be presented at a later today, but, for now, congrats to Emily, Brooke and Chloe. For being so ridiculously talented.
