iven just how long it’s been in arrested development, we were beginning
to think that the new but unfinished sandy pitch by the main entrance to Burnaby Park might actually be an art installation.
burly men in hard hats turning up today and thought, hey, the games are finally about to commence.
The installation of new park benches.
And the installation of a drinking water fountain.
Still, great to see some useful new additions to the park, along with the other current upgrades around Greystones and beyond, but you have to wonder if the council’s daily diary is being organised by The
Randomiser 3000.
And we’re in the middle of five months of renovations on the Charlesland dual carriageway roundabouts and yet not one useful penny has been spent on the closed Cliff Walk over the past four years.

What about the 2 “pedestrian /roadway” crossings? One at The Burnaby Pub and the other outside Bouys Kitchen. Both pedestrians and motorists think they have right of way. Yes, you may say it’s motorists have the right but from a pedestrian point of view, it’s looks like it’s the pedestrian has the right of way (human nature). Basically it is not clear and so there’s accidents waiting to happen. Needs looking at before it’s too late.
Also; the lighting outside dart station and indeed said crossings is totally inadequate for motorists to see pedestrians coming off the dart. Another accident just waiting to happen.
